2015 State DOT NEPA Assumption Peer Exchange

Overview

On November 10, representatives from nine state DOTs, the American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHTO), and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) came together in Washington, DC to share information on NEPA assumption. Because NEPA assumption can help streamline the environmental review process, a number of states have expressed interest in understanding the risks and benefits of assumption, as well as the process required to obtain full assumption. The peer exchange was one deliverable from NCHRP 25-25 Task 99: Lessons Learned from State DOT NEPA Assumption, which will also include a white paper that compiles the information shared during the in-person exchange. The agenda from the meeting is provided below.
