2012 Infrastructure Adaptation Workshop Webinar: Adapting Infrastructure to Extreme Events


This webinar shares the overall findings and lessons learned from the 3-hour workshop titled, Adapting Infrastructure to Extreme Weather Events: Best Practices and Key Challenges, hosted by AASHTO on May 20, 2012. The workshop provided a forum for information exchange on approaches to evaluating and mitigating the impacts of extreme weather events on transportation infrastructure. Senior representatives of State Departments of Transportation (DOTs) from across the country discussed their recent experiences with extreme weather impacts and shared perspectives on how to manage weather-related risks.

In addition, a panel of state DOT representatives describes their experiences with extreme weather and strategies for mitigating risk to transportation infrastructure.
