RELATED TOPICS/EXPERIENCES: Ms. McKay brings over 15 years of experiences to her work as a facilitator, trainer, and conflict manager with federal and state policy makers and regulators, local government representatives, citizen organizations, and the public. She focuses on facilitating agency and multi-stakeholder collaborative decision-making, including public involvement, on natural resource, energy development, land use, and transportation issues.
Ms. McKay has conducted public involvement for six major transportation planning and environmental studies in the Denver metropolitan area. As an implementer of public involvement activities, she focuses on strengthening the relationship between public input, resource and regulatory agency involvement, and the transportation decision-making process. As a facilitator of the FHWA/FTA “Linking Planning and NEPA” workshops, Ms. McKay has been instrumental in helping transportation and resource and regulatory agencies develop action plans to implement strategies to strengthen environmental considerations in planning and to carry forward planning decisions into project development. As the facilitator of the Rocky Mountain federal interagency leadership group on the application of NEPA to oil and gas resource development, Ms. McKay has been engaged in helping a diverse set of resource and regulatory agency and land management agency leaders and managers improve the environmental review process.
