Terms and Conditions

By using this site you agree that you will not hold AASHTO or the creators, operators, or related entities to the site responsible or liable ("indemnify and hold harmless") for the inability to connect to or use the site, or for any loss or corrupted data, or for any defamatory or offensive material(s) which you may encounter on or originating from this site, or for the conduct, opinions, or publications of any user, or for any other problem whatsoever related to the use or existence of the site. You understand that AASHTO has no obligation to acknowledge, mediate, or otherwise settle any disputes or differences in opinion that may arise between users.

The community of practice discussions are open forums that reflect the views and experiences of the individual participants and do not represent the opinion or policy of AASHTO.

Appropriate Use Guidelines

AASHTO encourages the free expression of ideas and opinions as long as they are responsible, free of insult, respectful of others, do not make public accusations related to specific projects, corporations, individuals, or contracts, and conform to the site purpose.

Each Center for Environmental Excellence Community of Practice website is managed by a moderator who reserves the right to edit, refuse to post, or to remove any information or links, in whole or in part, that do not follow the guidelines below or are in violation of applicable law.

When posting messages...

  • Be polite. Refrain from using inappropriate language, posting inappropriate content, or posting excessive messages. Personal attacks and insults are not acceptable and will be removed by the moderator.
  • Do not advertise or solicit business. Advertising or solicitation is not permitted on AASHTO's communities of practice website. Postings that solicit business will be removed by the moderator.
  • Don't duplicate threads. Before posting messages, please familiarize yourself with the forum, and use the search feature to locate any prior threads that may have already answered your question.
  • Be specific and stay on topic. When asking a question, include as much information about the issue as possible. Post only those messages that are relevant to the subject being discussed.
  • Use a descriptive title for your posts. This will help other participants successfully identify your topic. Vague subjects such as "Need help" or "Urgent question" are often passed over by participants as they provide no indication of the issue being discussed.
  • Don't quote previous messages. Participants can view previous messages in the thread, so quoting previous messages is not necessary and creates redundant text.
  • Don't include graphics or files. Please do not include attachments with your posts for speed and security reasons. The communities of practice website has file sharing capabilities that should be used for this purpose.
  • Avoid copyrighted material. Please do not add or post any copyrighted material to the site without written permission of the copyright owner.
  • Remember that all posts are public. All messages can be viewed by any member of the public, so participants should exercise caution when posting sensitive information such as email addresses, contact information or confidential data.
  • Notify the moderator of any issues. Please notify the moderator of any inappropriate posts, unacceptable content, or other issues that need to be managed.
