emphasis on the preservation of Historic American Structures. He is of engineering councel to McMullan & Associates of Vienna VA on Aqueduct and
Canal Lock design and to Kennedy, Porter & Associates of Baltimore, MD on bridge inspection and non-destructive testing. He was insrumental in saving
many historic bridges including the Walnut Street Bridge in Chattanooga TN; the Tenth Street Bridge in Great Falls MT; the Scherzer Movable Bridge in
Sturgeon Bay WI and many others. In 1988 President Reagan bestowed Abba with the Presidential and Federal Design Awards for the Restoration of
the Roebling Aqueduct and NJ Governor Kane presented him with the distinguished Charles Lindbergh Award. He is an active Emeritus memberof the
Committee on Preservation in Transportation and ASCE. Abba Lichtenstein resides in Washington DC with his wife Cecile an artist.
