Ann Miller

Bio

Ann  Miller is the Historian for the Virginia Transportation Research Council in Charlottesville, acting as principal investigator for the Research Council's history program, including research into historic bridges, early roads, and other facets of transportation history, as well as aspects of historic transportation resource management.   She is the state chair for the Virginia Historic Structures Task Group, the interagency committee that examines questions of historic significance and management for Virginia’s historic transportation structures.  Ms. Miller holds the degrees of Bachelor of Architectural History (1979) and Master of Architectural History with Certificate in Historic Preservation (1989), both from the University of Virginia.       

 

In addition to transportation history, Ms. Miller’s special areas of interest include history, social history, architecture, and cultural landscapes.  She is the author of numerous reports and publications for the Research Council, as well as a number of books, reports, and articles on matters relating to Virginia history and historic structures.  Her contact information is:
