Research Idea Scope

CAN RUMBLE STRIP NOISE BE MITIGATED WITH A NOISE WALL?
DO CONCRETE PARAPET WALLS REDUCE TIRE PAVEMENT NOISE IN THE FIELD?
DO CLEAR WALLS PROVIDE AN ADDED ACOUSTIC BENEFIT IN THE FIELD?
CAN A 10'-12' EARTHEN MOUND WITH 4:1 SLOPES BE SUCCESFULLY CONSTRUCTED AND VEGETATED AND PROVIDE ADEQUATE NOISE REDUCTION IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS?

CONSTRUCT A NOISE WALL ADJACENT TO RUMBLE STRIPS.
CONDUCT FIELD READINGS ADJACENT TO AND BEHIND CONCRETE PARAPET WALLS AND CLEAR WALLS.
CONSTRUCT A 10'-12' EARTHEN MOUND WITH 4:1 SLOPES AND FIELD TEST IT.

Urgency and Payoff

THE PROPOSED RESEARCH RESULTS COULD SAVE DOTS SIGNIFICANT TIME AND MONIES RELATIVE TO THE SELECTION AND SPECIFICATION OF NEW NOISE WALL PROJECTS.
