On July 28-31, 2014, the Center for Environmental Excellence by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) and the Environmental Technical Assistance Program (ETAP) held the fourth National Stormwater Practitioners Meeting in Washington, DC. The meeting brought state DOT stormwater experts from 35 states together with representatives from AASHTO, FHWA, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and the Association of Clean Water Administrators (ACWA). The purpose of the meeting was to bring experts together to share best practices, issues, and opportunities in an effort to continue improving DOT stormwater programs, understand compliance with water quality regulations, and incorporate solutions in day-to-day practices.
