How much of transportation’s GHG reductions can be achieved with more efficient vehicles and low-carbon fuels? How soon? What can state DOTs do to help maximize vehicle/fuel decarbonization?

David L. Greene of the Oak Ridge National Lab, speaks about near-, mid-, and long-term prospects for GHG reduction through vehicles and fuels. Steven Marshall, who is working with the West Coast Corridor Coalition (including the state DOTs of CA, OR, WA, and AK) speaks about opportunities for state DOTs to help expedite the transition to low carbon fuels, based on his work with the West Coast Corridor Coalition. Alan Jones, of Tennessee DOT, discusses Tennessee’s initiatives to provide alternative fueling infrastructure, install truck electrification equipment at truck stops, and promote diesel engine retrofits.
