Air Quality and Climate Change Co-benefits in a Multipollutant Framework
- Focus Area: Climate Change
- Status: Archived
- Subcommittee: Air Quality, Environmental Process
- Cost: Unknown
- Timeframe: Unknown
Research Idea Scope
TERI Database Administrator Notes: Not recommended at present time by 2009 Air Quality Subcommittee.
This goal of the research would be to uncover potential benefits of addressing climate change (green-house gas emissions) and criteria air pollutants simultaneously. The research would identify policy solutions that might acheive overall minimum levels of green-house gases and criteria pollutants.
Urgency and Payoff
The work would assist in the elaboration of multipollutant State Implementation Plans. The work would identify least cost solutions that address several pollutants, and that are cheaper than if each pollutant is viewed individually.
