Research Idea Scope
TERI Administrator Note:
Based on a February 2008 review by Wayne Kober and Joe Crossett, this project is deemed worthy but the project statement requires additional review, clarification, or rewriting.
Problem Statement:
Highway safety often focuses on stationary barriers. Environmental quality can be enhanced through ‘green’ guardrails and use of natural grasses and wildflowers in place of mowing.
Proposed Research:
Eight-ten cases of ‘green’ guardrails and naturalizing of median strips to test the impact on traffic safety and environmental quality.
