Research Idea Scope
Synthesis on standard and nonstandard mitigation in Section 106 agreements. Survey of cultural resource mitigation in Programmatic Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding. What works/what doesn’t work and why. (Developed in coordination with TRB AME60)
Urgency and Payoff
This is an immediate need – it could help DOTs develop mitigation strategies, it will provide effective examples of outreach and coordination, ways to avoid disagreements as well as provide examples of successful ways to complete DOTs’ responsibilities under Section 106.
