Research Idea Scope

Scope:

Develop an integrated asset management plan for utilities and right of way. Develop guidelines for concurrent construction and maintenance activities; develop guidelines for cost sharing of degradation of pavement life; develop quidelines for project coordination.

Urgency and Payoff

Pavement life, traffic  capacity, and citizen perception are all negatively impacted by uncoordinated, constant, and poorly coordinated construction.  Improving coordination will improve traffic flow, reduce maintenance costs, prolong pavement life and be appreciated by the driving public.
