Research Idea Scope

More and more DOTs are developing pilot
“showcase” projects on LEED certification of rest areas and oather
facilities.  Illinois DOT invested in
research on the most efficient, cost-effective ways to acquire LEED certification
for rest areas.  Other DOTs would benefit
from extension of this research to a national scale.

Urgency and Payoff

DOTs are already investing in LEED platinum and other
high-rated LEED facilities.  What are the
most efficient ways to get there?  This
information would produce information most DOTs could immediately use.
