More and more DOTs are developing pilot
“showcase” projects on LEED certification of rest areas and oather
facilities. Illinois DOT invested in
research on the most efficient, cost-effective ways to acquire LEED certification
for rest areas. Other DOTs would benefit
from extension of this research to a national scale.
