Research Idea Scope

Anecdotally, many lower-income households rely on public transit for transport. How does public transit access to community colleges and 2-year colleges impact a person’s ability to get to college, and stay in college throughout the course of the degree – both in terms of cost, time, and accessibility.

Urgency and Payoff

Understanding whether and how transit plays a role in educating people from lower-income households is critical in understanding where and how to run transit in a jurisdiction in order to maximize access to those who need it most.
