Sustainable Transportation in North America – Performance Measures Workshop
- Focus Area: Sustainability
- Status: Archived
- Subcommittee: Air Quality, Environmental Process
- Cost: Under $99k
- Timeframe: Under 1 year
Research Idea Scope
The purpose of the project is to develop a better understanding of sustainable transportation efforts in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, with particular reference to performance measures. The workshop will bring together the public agency, industry and the academics from the three North American countries that are analysing sustainable transportation issues, and develop potential alternatives to reduce emissions from transportation.
The first step in identifying solutions is to measure the issues in a consistent and systematic way.
Urgency and Payoff
This workshop will help to broaden knowledge and status of performance measures in this area. The “Centro de Diálogo y Análisis sobre América del Norte (CEDAN)” at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico City, the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI), a member of the Texas A&M University System, and the Centre Interuniversitaire de Recherche Sur les Réseaux d’Entreprise, la Logistique et le Transport (CIRRELT), at the Université de Montréal have been working together to establish the North American Sustainable Transportation Consortium (NASTC).
