About COP

The Center for Environmental Excellence by AASHTO Communities of Practice (COP) forum provides an online venue for invited professionals to discuss and exchange information, experiences, ideas, and best practices on a range of environmental topics related to the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of highway and transit systems. The goal of these Communities of Practice is to promote environmental stewardship and to encourage innovative ways to streamline the transportation delivery process.

Individual Community of Practice discussions will be moderated by Center technical experts to: 1) ensure the integrity and appropriateness of the discussions and any items posted on the web site; and 2) synthesize and document important information and recommendations generated by each community. The public is able to monitor the Community of Practice discussions and can offer input through discussion-specific online comment forms. Periodically, the moderators, in cooperation with Community of Practice participants, will prepare and publish state-of-the practice reports, which will be posted on this web site.

If you have questions or comments regarding the Community of Practice forum, please contact the Center for Environmental Excellence by AASHTO through the Contact Us link.
