The Transportation and Environmental Research Ideas (TERI) database is a central storehouse for tracking and sharing new transportation and environmental research ideas. The Center for Environmental Excellence by AASHTO maintains TERI and keeps all content current. Suggestions for new ideas are welcome from practitioners across the transportation and environmental community. AASHTO’s Committee on the Environment and Sustainability has the responsibility for regularly reviewing the ideas in TERI to provide a gauge of each research idea’s merit for practitioners. The Committee on the Environment and Sustainability considers all new ideas submitted during the annual research review cycle that typically occurs in the spring. Practitioners are encouraged to re-submit prior research ideas for consideration during the current research cycle.
TERI provides a timely, organized, and comprehensive list of research ideas to policy makers and researchers as they make choices in forums such as NCHRP. As the best research ideas in TERI are implemented, you can search the Transportation Research Board’s Research in Progress (RiP) database to find out more about their status. After research is completed, you can search the US Department of Transportation and Transportation Research Board’s TRID catalogue to find information about final reports and other research products.
Anyone can view the TERI database or suggest new research ideas. Use the filters below to find research ideas related to your line of work.
