TRB Webinar: New CEQ Regulations Effects on Transportation Industry

How will the Council on Environmental Quality’s (CEQ) Phase 2 regulations affect industry project delivery and timelines? TRB will host a webinar on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM Eastern that will identify the new changes in the regulations and how to successfully implement them to minimize impact on project delivery. Presenters will share how to incorporate these changes into a successful National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) program.

This webinar is sponsored by TRB’s Standing Technical Committee on Environmental Analysis and Ecology in Transportation.

Registration is free for employees of TRB sponsors as well as Titanium and Cobalt Global Affiliates. The registration rate for all other attendees is $100.   1. Discussing new CEQ Phase 2 guidelines and how they affect NEPA practitioners – Diane Nulton, HDR
  2. CEQ Phase 2 regulations and the correlations with environmental justice considerations during the NEPA process – Carolyn Nelson, U. S. Department of Transportation
  3. Detail changes outline in new CEQ Phase 2 regulations and how this affect projects – Marisel Lopez-Cruz, Federal Highway Administration
  4. Question and answer session moderated by Jack Allen, Avenue Consultants

The first 60 minutes of the webinar will be for presentations and the final 30 minutes will be reserved for audience questions.

 

Learning Objectives

At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify changes in the CEQ Phase 2 regulations
  2. Implement CEQ Phase 2 changes with minimal impacts to project delivery
  3. Incorporate CEQ Phase 2 regulations into an existing NEPA program

 

Professional Development Hours

Professional engineers (PEs) who register and attend the entire webinar as an individual will be awarded 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs). TRB’s webinar program awards PDH credits only to the registered individual, and not to other members of a group that view the webinar together. To be eligible for the credits, individuals must remain signed in for the entire webinar, including for any question and answer session following the presentations.

This webinar will be delivered as a scheduled – e-learning live event and is categorized within RCEP as Technical, Health and Safety.

Please check with your licensing board to ensure that TRB webinar PDHs are approved by your board.

American Institute of Certified Planners Certification Maintenance Credits

This webinar is approved by the American Planning Association (APA) for 1.5 Certification Maintenance (CM) Credits. CM credits provide continuing education opportunities for AICP Certified Planners to continue their professional skills and knowledge.
