Groundwater, Infiltration, Runoff, and Frost Characteristics of Porous Asphalt Roads and Parking Lots
- Focus Area: Sustainability
- Status: Archived
- Subcommittee: Air Quality, Environmental Process
- Cost: $250k-$499k
- Timeframe: 2-3 years
Research Idea Scope
Porous asphalt installations will be monitored and the hydrologic aspects monitored over a 2-year period to study the effects of water moving through pavement and sublayer systems as well as how this effects system performance and longevity.
Urgency and Payoff
These results would lead to the design of longer-lasting porous road facilities.
