- Focus Area: Wildlife & Ecosystems
- Status: Archived
- Subcommittee: Natural Resources
- Cost: Unknown
- Timeframe: Under 1 year
Research Idea Scope
Considering the temporary nesting patterns of both migratory and resident birds such as a nesting Eagle or local bat populations, the net effect to a construction project in the immediate area can be monumental. The costs to stop construction or delay a project can be burdonsum to a contractor and an owner equally.
Urgency and Payoff
It is suggested that a method of persuading a relocation, an alternate nesting site and a method of re-directing the nesting locations could result in the saving of thousands of dollars in direct cost and many time that in resulting legal applications
